About Callum
As an ESL tutor with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English Language and Literature and extensive teaching experience, I specialise in helping students develop fluency, confidence, and comprehension in English. I have worked with learners of all levels and ages, from beginners to advanced speakers, and from varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds. My lessons focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing while also strengthening vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. I create interactive, engaging, and practical lessons using real-life scenarios, authentic texts, multimedia resources, and exercises to make learning meaningful. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether they seek conversational fluency, exam preparation, academic success, or business communication. I provide personalised feedback, guidance, and practice assignments to reinforce classroom learning. My teaching philosophy emphasises structured methodology, patience, and encouragement, fostering a motivating and supportive environment. My ESL lessons are designed to make learning English engaging, practical, and effective. Each session starts with a warm-up and review of prior lessons. Students practise speaking, listening, reading, and writing in each class. Vocabulary is expanded through reading, conversation, and exercises. Grammar is taught clearly and applied in practical examples. Listening exercises include dialogues, audio recordings, and videos. Speaking practice focuses on pronunciation, fluency, and conversational skills. Reading comprehension is developed with articles, stories, and dialogues. Writing exercises cover sentence formation, paragraph structure, and short essays. Lessons are interactive, with opportunities for questions and discussion. Homework assignments reinforce classroom learning. Feedback is provided to track progress and improvement. Lessons are adapted to each student’s pace and learning style. I aim to make English learning enjoyable, engaging, and confidence-building. Students leave each lesson more fluent, capable, and motivated.
