• 1. Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I believe I was born with a natural instinct for music. From a very young age, I was surrounded by melodies, thanks to my parents, who often played songs, bhajans, and ghazals on our DVD player. Those early moments left a deep impression on me, making music an inseparable part of my life. As I grew older, my curiosity about different genres, rhythms, and compositions only strengthened, leading me to pursue music not just as a passion but as a career.

• 2. What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  When I was around 18, I was already deeply involved in music classes. During that time, I would often help my juniors by explaining musical concepts. To my surprise, they found my teaching methods highly effective and encouraged me to take up teaching professionally. Their appreciation and feedback made me realize that I had a natural ability to teach, and that's when I seriously considered a career in music education. Their words became the biggest motivation for me to step into this field.

• 3. How does your work help society?

  Music is a universal language that brings people together. As a music teacher, I contribute to society by nurturing the next generation of musicians and helping individuals find their unique voices. Learning music enhances cognitive skills, emotional intelligence, and discipline, making students more focused and expressive. Additionally, music serves as a form of therapy, helping people deal with stress and anxiety. Through my teaching, I not only impart musical knowledge but also instill confidence, creativity, and a sense of cultural appreciation in my students.

• 4. If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My role model is my Guru, Shri Raja Balooni. He has been a guiding light in my musical journey, shaping my understanding of both technical and emotional aspects of music. His dedication, discipline, and passion for the art have deeply inspired me. He taught me that music is not just about notes and melodies but also about emotions and storytelling. His teaching philosophy has influenced my own approach to educating students, making me a more empathetic and effective teacher.

• 5. Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Beyond teaching music, I have a keen interest in reading books, especially those that focus on life lessons and fascinating facts. Reading helps me gain new perspectives and enhances my understanding of the world. Cooking is another hobby that I deeply enjoy-it allows me to experiment with flavors and express creativity in a different way. Additionally, I am passionate about sports, particularly badminton. Playing badminton keeps me physically active and refreshes my mind, balancing my professional and personal life.

• 6. Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One of the most rewarding moments in my teaching career happened during a music session with one of my students. He was struggling with a particular song and was on the verge of giving up. Instead of pushing him to keep trying, I shared a lesson from my Guru, Shri Raja Balooni-that music is not just about perfection but about feeling the soul of a composition. I encouraged him to close his eyes and connect with the emotion of the song rather than focusing only on the technicalities. To my amazement, his performance improved significantly, and he delivered a soulful rendition. That moment reinforced my belief that teaching is not just about imparting knowledge but about inspiring confidence and passion in students.
