About Phoebe
I have the Trinity Cert. TESOL qualification and have taught English to teenagers from around the world in a UK summer school. I taught groups of around 15 pupils on a range of topics such as introduction, family, school and hobbies, holidays, work and social life. My students enjoyed an interactive approach and this is what I aim to do in all of my lessons, even one-to-one. I find that the more my students speak English, the more confident they become in other areas of English.
The topics I cover in my private lessons with you will depend on which areas you feel need improvement and your individual goals.

My name is Phoebe and I am a Trinity Cert. TESOL qualified English teacher based in Manchester, UK. I give private lessons to both children and adults wishing to improve their English oral and written skills, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.
I take a flexible yet grounded approach to my teaching, so that my students feel comfortable yet challenged and are exposed to an equal balance of oral and written English. I believe working with my students and adapting my lessons to their individual needs is the most efficient and enjoyable way for a student to learn effectively.
I studied modern foreign languages at degree level, so I have a deep understanding of the difficulties faced by a language learner, and I have used this experience to shape my own approach to teaching English.
