About Anna

My name's Anna, and I recently graduated from Oxford University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and a first class BA degree in Medical Sciences. I am currently working as an Academic Doctor in one of London's largest hospitals, specialising in nephrology research.

I achieved 11A*s in iGCSE, and A* in Biology, A* in Chemistry, A in Maths at A level. I received offers from Newcastle, Leicester, Birmingham and Oxford to study Medicine back in 2018. I am offering interview practice and preparation for Oxbridge Medical Applicants. I know firsthand how intimidating the whole process can be, but I hope through working with you I can help you familiarise yourself with the format of these interviews and the type of content that comes up to give you the best chance at being successful!

I am also offering tutoring for current medical students on any topics they may be struggling with. I regularly teach students at the hospital and have had great feedback from them. I am very passionate about medical education, and I found during university much of the teaching was given by researchers and consultants, whereas I found teaching from doctors earlier on in their training the most helpful. They had recently graduated and had first hand experience of what type of teaching worked for them, and also had their knowledge cemented by their use of it during practice.

About the lesson

I am offering Oxbridge (Oxford / Cambridge) style interview practice. These interviews are based on the format of tutorials and exploring the basis of specific scientific principles. I have had experience in giving tutorials in Medicine before, as well as having sat through many Oxford tutorials myself. I therefore understand the benefit of having students think and talk through their approach and help them eventually come to the answer mainly by themselves with some aid. Discussing topics and gaining an understanding of first principles helps with memory consolidation and the ability to apply this knowledge to answer many questions. My lessons are structured as a mock interview, lasting from 30 minutes to an hour (depending on your preference), with time taken at the end for thorough feedback for each question. I look forward to hearing from you :)

For Medical Students-
I am offering teaching on either preclinical or clinical topics. I can help with OSCE practice and history presentation as well.

Anna is incredibly bright and knowledagble but is also endlessly empathetic! When learning a new topic or preparing for an unfamiliar context like a medicine interview, being able to gain practice with someone who has both of these qualities makes all the difference. She is great at being able to work *with* you to figure out complex ideas and having had the practice with a friendly face makes the real thing much more manageable:)
