About Lucas

I have experience helping children learn in classes as well as out of classes for a good deal of my time in secondary school. I decided to go and take it more seriously at university. I have gotten A*AAA at A level as well as 6A* at IGCSE. I also happen to be an Italian native but know how to speak English very fluently. I like to play a regular amount of sport and have spent 6 months on my own doing science communication. I like to take a lot of digitised notes which is why I believe I can help most students as I have most of my notes by my side. I also got a Gold award in the UK maths challenge 2018 and a Bronze award in the British Physics Olympiad.

About the lesson

My teaching method consists of sending my notes beforehand then teaching the topic as if I were to prepare them for an exam. By that, I mean proving and making sure that the concept is thoroughly understood and then sharing some tips whilst we go through questions. I do not like to pick current questions as that may reduce the amount of material that the student can use to revise later on. Instead, I will choose old A level questions or a harder but similar version of the syllabus.

I will go through some of the current questions myself beforehand so that I am up to date with the content on the syllabus and the style of questions. I have a whole digital library of resources, some personally made that serve to help with exams most likely related to the student.

I also promise to be understanding if there is a concept that the student doesn't understand, we're all human and I will use my communication techniques I've developed over several years to break down the concept easily enough for it to be digested, once it clicks, everything will start to make sense.
