About Josiah

My name is Josiah, and I have been playing chess most of my life, but I only took it seriously during the pandemic. I got into it because of friends at school and took a big interest. My highest Elo has reached 2473 (99.9th percentile), and my highest-rated win was against a National Master who was #60 in the world on Chess.com at the time.

About the lesson

A typical lesson would include working on chess puzzles to enhance tactical vision, going over openings, perfecting positional play, analyzing games of strong players, and analyzing personal games to find aspects to improve upon. I allow students to play games against people to relax from studying when needed because I firmly believe that you will get burnt out if you overwork your brain. That is also an opportunity to see what principles they are taking from the lessons. I teach anyone from 100 elo to 1200 elo.

Josiah not only has an excellent understanding of math concepts, but he demonstrates a level of patience beyond his years when explaining harder concepts to struggling students. I highly recommend!
