All students are different and my approach with every student varies accordingly. For instance, this can take the form of incorporating more visual resources for visual learners. The preparation and teaching of a particular topic generally is as follows however.
1) Preparation of an organised and structured PowerPoint on the topic.
2) Introduction of familiar ideas and concepts and a focus on preliminary concepts.
3) Evaluation of knowledge base of students and adapt the direction of the lesson accordingly.
4) Explanation of idea with some examples.
5) Allowing time for students to complete examples, helping where necessary.
6) Conclusion of the lesson with a summary and allow time for any more questions.
