About Lucas
I am a 3rd year Classics student at Cambridge University. Both my parents are teachers, and I've grown up helping my three younger siblings with their homework, so tutoring is in my blood! At Cambridge I have taught primarily through one-on-one 'supervisions' with professors, which has showed me how much you can learn in just one hour with someone truly passionate about their subject, someone who can be patient whilst also pushing you to achieve. These are the qualities I always strive to bring to my lessons. Outside of academia I enjoy chess, tennis and music - my favourite artist at the moment is Kendrick Lamar.

I believe in giving students what they need, not just what they want. Thus I always use insightful questions to help students challenge their own beliefs, identifying and strengthening all areas of weakness. This approach goes hand in hand with a comfortable and informal atmosphere, so that students are never afraid to be challenged. I also believe that information can be learnt from a textbook; the real purpose of a tutor is to teach more logical, precise and creative ways of thinking, which is the key to better writing.

Lucas is a great tutor! He has vast experience and knowledge in the humanities and explains complex concepts with great clarity and patience. He is very friendly and I'd definitely recommend him!
I couldn’t recommend Lucas enough as an English tutor. He helped my daughter improve her grades from about 6 level to an 8/9! He is patient and attentive to the student’s needs and really helps nurture them to progress with their subject. He is engaging and descriptive with his explanations and really centres his lessons around the student’s needs. Amazing tutor overall!
