About Kaylen
I'm a 4th year Electrical Engineering student at Cal Poly SLO, and I will be graduating in June. I've always loved math and fell in love with physics in high school. People think my major is boring but I think it's super interesting as you learn more and see how much you can do with it. I'm passionate about renewable energy and sustainable technology and I'm focusing my classes on these areas.

I would serve best as a tutor for a 1-3rd year engineering student or anyone taking calculus or physics.
STEM is all about learning the process, not just finding the right answer. I've had students that just want me to help them get their homework right, but I like to use getting the homework right as a way to learn the material properly to ensure that you pass your exams. I like to contact you before the first session to learn about what topics need to be covered so that I can come up with what's important to teach, how to phrase the content to make sense, and create some practice problems. I let students guide the sessions on areas they need the most help with. I usually explain the concepts and the general process of solving problems and then have us work on some problems together. Rather than telling the student what to do next, I ask them what they think they should do and either correct them and explain what else to do or let them see where it takes them and use that as a learning opportunity.
I'm available online or on campus at Cal Poly.
