About Farhat
I have mid-senior experience in the academic publishing industry. I have worked in the editorial operations department at one of the top global publishers, Springer Nature (home to Nature Journal and Scientific American magazine). I have also worked as a Technical Writer at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. I achieved an A grade in A-Level English Literature. I also achieved an A grade in GCSE English Literature, as well as in GCSE English Language. I went on to study BSc Biochemistry and graduated with a 2.1 (Upper Second Class). I have been able to apply my research and written communication skills to my career in research publishing. I am eager to provide support and encourage English students to aim high! Also, I am happy to provide A-Level students with assistance in checking grammar and writing for personal statements for university course applications. I can provide English undergraduate students with an insight into academic publishing roles and possible career paths such as my own. I am happy to advise on how to prepare for future interviews and highlight what employers are looking for in an Editorial/Publishing Assistant or Co-ordinator, Technical Writer, or Editorial Operations Manager for example.

I can assist with homework, mark practice assessments, and provide further support for areas that require more time to understand complex concepts. Lesson length is completely flexible, i.e. 20mins or 1hr. I am happy and confident to teach any age from pre-school up to A-Level. I am also happy to provide undergraduate students with support in pursuing a publishing career by sharing how to prepare for the application or interview process for various roles.
