About Basil
Hello! My name is Basil Marvey, and I'm a second-year Bcom Financial Sciences student studying at the University of Pretoria. I enjoy playing football, reading, and I am passionate about fitness and love spending time in the gym, which helps me stay balanced and focused. I am passionate about teaching because I love helping others understand concepts that might seem difficult at first and seeing them gain confidence in their abilities. I too have struggled in the past with gaining an understanding, but I loved how I quickly adapted through consistent learning and support I eventually excelled. My wish is for you to experience the same thing. With my knowledge in accounting and patient nature, I aim to make lessons both clear and enjoyable.

In my lessons, I begin by clearly explaining the topic, ensuring the student has a solid understanding of the fundamentals. Afterward, I ask the student what they find confusing and guide them through practice questions, giving them time to work independently before reviewing and marking their answers. When mistakes occur, I carefully explain why they are incorrect and how to approach them correctly. I teach in English and strive to create a supportive and friendly environment, making lessons engaging and even a bit fun. Students can expect to leave each lesson with a stronger understanding than before. My lessons are aimed at high school students seeking clarity, improvement, and a personalized approach to learning.
