About Karl
Technique is often ignored by hobbyists despite being the foundation of every great player. My 13 years of experience at the Curtis Institute of Music and on stage have shown me that shortcuts simply create bad habits. I now teach full time, focusing on strumming patterns, acoustic technique, songwriting, and improvisation.
Developing soloing, rhythm guitar, barre chords, and chord transitions takes grit. I emphasize ear training and fingerpicking to round out your capabilities. Whether you are preparing for grade exam prep or building a repertoire, I ensure your practice is functional. You will gain a 7.0 score in clarity and precision through steady, rigorous work.

Getting straight to the point is my only method for effective guitar coaching. Honesty dictates that progress is rarely linear, so we address your technical hurdles immediately.
I utilize custom backing tracks so students can practise soloing at home. This system ensures you hear your improvement during our time together. We combine your goals with my BMus background to build a framework for success. Guitar studies should feel like solving a puzzle, which is why the process of cleaning up your technique is genuinely rewarding.
