About Thomas

I trained for 3 years as an actor at Birmingham School of Speech & Drama (now Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) and have worked in theatre, film and commercials. As an actor I've found out that the learning process that starts at drama school is something that never ends. There is something wonderful about that fact. Each new role opens up another little world of discovery!

About the lesson

Coaching drama school applicants is a particularly appealing thing. Having been one myself I'm so aware of how much there is to learn and how exciting it all is! My approach is student-centred rather than method-centred. There are many approaches to acting and there is definitely not one method that fits every actor. Another thought is that I believe in teaching with positive reinforcement rather than criticism.

You are already an accomplished and experienced actress. Your investment in and understanding of your chosen two texts was very apparent. You speak English fluently in your native accent. With these pieces the next step is memorisation. Once you have memorised them I am sure you will make lots of exciting discoveries. I wish you luck with your showreel project.

This first lesson offered with Thomas will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

After the first lesson please pay the full amount within 24 hours of each subsequent lesson. If you choose to buy a 'pack' of lessons please pay after the first one of the 'pack'. If you had to cancel the lesson, if you were to do so four hours or more before the start I would refund the fee, but if it's less than four hours beforehand I would not, so I would expect full payment. I use Zoom and Skype. If the internet connection prevented us from linking up for a lesson I would schedule another at a different and mutually agreed time. Please contact me by email.
