About Wilson

Hello! My name is Wilson, and I am currently a Secondary Teaching student at the Australian Catholic University (ACU). I am passionate about education and committed to helping students build strong foundations in Basic Math, ESL, and Vietnamese. As someone who is patient, friendly, and dedicated, I understand that every student learns differently, and I always make it a priority to create a supportive learning environment. I began tutoring during my studies and have since helped students improve their results, confidence, and study habits through clear explanations and consistent guidance. My experience working with young learners has taught me the importance of encouragement, structure, and personalized teaching strategies. I believe that with the right support, every student can grow, feel capable, and enjoy learning. Professionalism is very important to me. My approach to tutoring is patient, structured, and personalised. I focus on building strong foundational skills, especially for students who struggle with confidence in Maths or English. I break concepts down into simple, clear steps and use real-life examples to make learning easier to understand. Each lesson includes explanation, guided practice, and independent exercises to help students become more confident learners.

Teaching Techniques and Methodology:

Step-by-step explanations with simple language

Visual examples and practice questions

“Thinking out loud” modelling so students learn how to approach problems

Regular revision of previous topics

Encouragement and positive feedback to build confidence

Lesson plans tailored to each student’s goals and skill level

Patience and repetition for students who learn best at a slower pace

Typical Lesson Length:
My lessons are usually 60 minutes, but 75–90 minute sessions are available for students who need extra support or exam practice.

Qualifications and Experience:
I am currently a Secondary Teaching student at ACU, majoring in education. I have one year of private tutoring experience helping students improve their understanding of basic Maths, ESL, and Vietnamese. In the past, I have helped several students increase their performance by 30–40% through structured and consistent teaching.
