About Mia
Across eighteen years of tutoring I have taught 930 students singing, many preparing for serious performance opportunities or professional vocal training. My own vocal training combines advanced classical study with years of professional performance experience across several musical styles. I am known among long-term students for being extremely thorough, though I balance that rigor with genuine warmth and real investment in each singer's confidence and well-being. I specialize particularly in students aiming for competitive auditions or advanced vocal certification, where precision and control often matter as much as raw natural talent. Many former students still contact me years later with updates about their performing careers, which I consider a far more meaningful measure of success than any single audition result.

After eighteen years teaching singing, my method is highly systematic, built around detailed diagnostic listening at the very start of every tutoring relationship to pinpoint exact technical gaps rather than guessing. Breathing, resonance, and pitch control are addressed through structured exercises tied directly to specific repertoire, organised into a clear developmental sequence. For performance or audition preparation I rely heavily on frequent mock performances under realistic pressure, categorising weaknesses as technical, interpretive, or confidence related, since each demands a different fix. I maintain a long term tracking spreadsheet for every student, logging vocal development across months to catch slow developing issues early. Every student leaves each lesson with precisely targeted practice, chosen specifically based on that day's diagnostic observations.
