About Valerie
My name is Valerie Valentine, and I am a dedicated private tutor specializing in Afrikaans and Mathematical Literacy. I achieved distinctions in both subjects, along with other 2 subjects (Business studies and Life Orientation). I have a strong understanding of how to break down content in a clear, supportive, and practical way.
I am currently a university student, which allows me to relate well to learners and understand the academic pressures they face. I take my role as a tutor seriously and always aim to create a respectful, structured, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

In a lesson, students can expect a calm and encouraging environment. Lessons usually include a short review of previous work, clear explanations of new concepts, guided practice with examples, and focused exercises to build confidence. I also assist with homework, exam preparation, and understanding key concepts required by the curriculum.
My lessons are aimed at primary and high school learners, particularly those studying Afrikaans and Mathematical Literacy. I am especially well-suited to learners who feel anxious about these subjects, need extra support, or want to improve their marks and confidence.
