Afrikaans is my mother tongue. I am familiar with Afrikaans tenses, vocabulary, sentence structuring, and pronunciation. I Have written several academic and post graduate papers on a PhD level.

About Paul
I have been involved in teaching and learning for the last 30 years. I have completed a Higher Diploma in Adult Education, a Diploma in Couching, a B Th , MA and PhD in theology and a university course in Practical Afrikaans,.
My own learning has given me a wide scope of approaching an academically - and contextual orientated approach. So my own linguistic capabilities have richly benefited from both academic and social forms of the language.
I value each student that enrols with me, no matter the level where the student is in learning the language sufficiently.

I follow a student-centred approach where the student has to learn to learn skills and master them by him/herself.
My student is never below my own knowledge of the subject. I am thus very understanding issues related to learning the language.
Depending on the age of the student, I will usually start by short, easy sentences and listen to the pronunciation of the words. The more sufficient the student is able to read fluently, the more I will concentrate on sentence structuring, verbs, and vocabulary.
The aim of my approach should give the student a sense of owning and mastering the language by him/herself, The student should take responsibility and ownership.
