About Me
Hi, I’m Aidin—a professional tutor and academic coach with over twelve years of experience, as well as a doctor, scientist, and engineer. My background in medicine, chemistry, and engineering has given me a broad academic foundation, but my true passion lies in helping students grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity.
I believe that learning isn’t the challenge, it’s finding the right approach. I don’t just teach subjects, I coach students on how to learn effectively, ensuring they build confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities that extend far beyond the classroom. My approach blends academic coaching, Socratic questioning, and personalised mentoring, helping students develop lifelong learning skills rather than simply preparing for the next exam.

About the lesson

My Approach: A Coaching Framework for Success
Over the years, I’ve seen that many students don’t struggle because of ability, they struggle because they’ve never been shown how to learn. Schools focus on what to study, but rarely on the process of learning itself.
That’s why I developed my four-step coaching framework, rooted in cognitive science, psychology, and teaching practice. It applies to any subject, and more importantly, it gives students tools they can use for life:
• Understand – Building deep comprehension through discussion and Socratic questioning
• Memorise – Effective recall techniques, active learning, and spaced repetition
• Apply – Problem-solving, exam practice, and applying knowledge in context
• Review & Reflect – Identifying weaknesses, setting goals, and refining strategies
This cycle builds independence, resilience, and adaptability. It’s not just about passing exams—it’s about developing the confidence to tackle new challenges, whether in further study, careers, or even business.
Alongside this, I incorporate elements of life coaching and CBT techniques to help students manage stress, stay motivated, and approach challenges with a growth mindset. Parents often tell me they notice not just better grades, but real improvements in confidence, organisation, and curiosity.
