About Freya

About the lesson

I have over 10 years of experience tutoring mathematics and hold an MSc in Computational Mathematics. My passion is helping non-STEM students discover that math is not just numbers—it’s a way of thinking. I focus on conceptual understanding and relevance, rather than heavy computation, so students can see the purpose behind each topic.

I often use everyday analogies and historical context to bring abstract concepts to life. By highlighting the big ideas behind complex theories, I help students connect mathematics to the world around them. I’ve worked extensively with liberal arts students, humanities scholars, and anyone looking to overcome past math anxiety. I understand how intimidating math can feel, so I create a supportive environment where curiosity is encouraged.

Ultimately, my goal is to empower students to embrace mathematics with curiosity and confidence. I want them to recognize math’s universal impact and see it as a tool for understanding the world.
