About Tim

I'm a singer/actor/writer/composer based in NYC. I studied music composition and songwriting at Berklee College of Music where my principal instrument was voice and have performed Off-Off-Broadway (Our Bar), on TV ("The Good Fight"), and on stage at Joe's Pub at the Public Theater. I'm currently working on a new musical and writing a novel. I enjoy many nerdy pastimes like re-reading my favorite fantasy book series (The Wheel of Time), going to museums, and watching sci-fi and horror films. I also eat many tacos.

About the lesson

Singing isn't some mystical skill gifted from the heavens; it's a concrete set of physiological processes that can be taught. Your level isn't important—whether you're just beginning or you've been singing for years, there are always things you can do to improve your tone, breath support, phrasing, and song interpretation. I've sung on television, in NYC theater, and on the storied stage of Joe's Pub, and I can take what I know to help you become a better vocalist. Let's face it: We can all use an outside ear. In class with me, you'll be singing your favorite songs and working on concrete techniques that will noticeably and immediately improve your style. My expertise also includes music theory and songwriting—so if you'd like to become a better musician in general, or need help working on a song you've got the seeds of, I'd be more than happy to offer help. So, whether you're just starting your journey as a vocalist or you've been singing for years and want a little guidance, let's get started!

Perfect! It’s always a little nerve wracking to meet someone new and then extra nerve racking to sing terribly in front of them but Tim is so kind and knowledgeable that I felt immediately at ease. I had a vocal breakthrough on lesson one! I was expecting MONTHS of coaching before having any signs of improvement so I’m over the moon excited at the progress already being made! Debbie's a delight to work with. As a singer, she has pitch accuracy and a lovely voice, but as with all beginning vocalists the muscles aren't built yet. We'll be working on creating a solid foundation of technique and growing her repertoire, starting with easier songs and working our way up to more challenging ones. I expect her to learn quickly and for us meanwhile to both have a great time!

Perfect! Tim knows so much about the voice he had ti sing to him and emediatly he knew what I was doing wrong and showed me the rite technique..

In one day he had the tone of my voice to a deep resonant sound he is very easy to work with totally recommended

Jayden has a very wonderfully distinct voice and style. Because he has not been trained in singing technique, he has bee having issues with muscle tension. We are working to correct that. He's a joy to work with!
