About William

I have a master's degree in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Arlington, and have taken post-graduate coursework at California State University Long Beach, the University of Texas at Tyler, and the American College of Education. I have taught speech and business communications at the university level for more than 20 years and hold the rank of Associate Adjunct Professor of Communications. Additionally, I am the owner of an educational consulting business, working to advise and support educational enterprises across the U.S.

I have traveled to nearly 40 nations, and have lived in Mexico, Guatemala, India, and several states in the U.S.A. I currently reside in a major city in Texas.

About the lesson

I specialize in helping people to master American English pronuciation and reduce non-English accents. Many professionals raised outside the U.S. struggle to be understood by their workmates and clients, even if they have lived in the U.S. for many years.

My tutoring is designed to assist those who have a good working command of English, but struggle with their pronunication and need to improve their American English speaking abilities. I will work on correct pronunciation (Standard American English), grammar, spelling, and common informal American expressions.

Having lived in both India and in Latin America, I understand the difficulties that Indians and Latinos may have with English. However, I am willing and able to work with anyone who is not a native English speaker, no matter where they originally came from.

My tutoring lessons are built individually, based on my student's needs.

I only tutor students who are adults. I do not tutor children or teens.
