About Avery
Hi! My name is Avery, and I’m a kinesiology major with a minor in biology. I was an International Baccalaureate (IB) biology student in high school and have consistently earned A+ grades in anatomy, physiology, and biology courses throughout my academic journey. Currently, I work as an undergraduate teaching assistant for anatomy lab sessions, where I’ve earned a 5-star rating from students for my engaging, patient, and clear teaching style. I’m also on the pre-physician assistant track with a focus on pediatric oncology, which inspires my dedication to making science accessible and meaningful for everyone. My passion for science and helping others learn drives my tutoring. I know that studying biology and anatomy can be overwhelming at times, so I aim to make complex topics easier to understand through real-world examples, interactive discussions, and personalized lessons. My experience both as a student and as a lab assistant has given me a unique perspective on how to explain concepts in a way that truly resonates. As a tutor, I believe that understanding and engagement are the keys to success. My teaching method is highly interactive, incorporating visual aids, real-world applications, and a step-by-step breakdown of concepts to help students grasp the material fully. During each lesson, I tailor the content to the student's specific needs—whether it’s mastering the fundamentals, preparing for exams, or tackling challenging topics. I wrap up the session with practice questions and helpful strategies to reinforce what we’ve learned. My background as an IB biology student, kinesiology major, and undergraduate anatomy lab teaching assistant has equipped me with a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biology, which I love to share in a supportive and engaging way. My lessons are perfect for high school students (including IB biology), college students tackling anatomy or physiology, and anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of how the human body works. Details
My rates start at $13 per hour, depending on the subject and level of instruction. For high school IB biology and introductory anatomy and physiology, the rate is $13/hour. For college-level anatomy, physiology, and advanced biology topics, the rate may be slightly higher to reflect the complexity of the material.
