About Riikka
Professional and effective teaching – for your learning. When you choose a private tutor, you want to be sure that the teacher has the expertise, experience and ability to meet you as an individual. This is exactly what I offer: clear, goal-oriented and high-quality teaching, based on strong pedagogical expertise and a genuine interest in the student's progress. I have studies in Finnish as a second language and I have extensive experience in S2 teaching and integration training. I work professionally with a variety of learners – whether they are beginners, continuing learners or students who need certainty in their Finnish language skills. I also use English as a support language in my teaching, which makes it easier for early learners in particular and clarifies challenging points. If you are supported by another language, we will soon find a common ground. My teaching style is calm, consistent and respectful of the student. I build a personal learning path for each student and make sure that we progress with clear steps towards certain competence. I take care of the high quality of my texts and materials – because learning should be convincing and enjoyable at the same time. I build a learning path for each student that suits their needs, which helps them progress purposefully, efficiently and with motivation. My teaching methods combine three things: clearly, inspiringly and practically.
