About Aishwarya

I am a computer science graduate currently working in a corporate job. My job entails back end development of applications and software. Although its a good job, i have always loved teaching and i really want to pursue it on the side. Teaching is not just sharing what i know to my students, its also a very effective learning process. Back in my college days i used to teach my peers and was able to understand the things i would have missed otherwise through their doubts. Teaching for me is a great way of refreshing my memory of the things i had been taught in school too. I am also a student of jiu jitsu. Its a martial art form focused on grappling on the ground. Its about learning techniques to control and attack your opponent without having to exert oneself too much. Its a beautiful art form that im glad to have found. It has given my life meaning and i am able to experience true happiness by expressing myself through this sport. I aim to attain black belt skill level and hope to open my own school and teach it to many more people, touch and change their lives the way it has changed mine.

About the lesson

When i was being taught in school, it was mostly my teachers telling me there are certain methods to solve things and thats just how we need to do it in the exams to score high. Although scoring high is important for a good future, its more important to understand the reasoning behind the established methods to solve problems in fields like math, physics and computer science. Thats what i aim to do. To nudge my students to self explore these methods and truly understand what they mean.These algorithms must be understood at a basic level and should not just be used as a means to an end. I want to inculcate curiosity in my students as i think thats the single most important factor that differentiates a good student from the rest. Self discovery and exploration apart from what we are taught is something i am just learning myself in my process of learning jiu jitsu( a martial art form).
