I’m Anupriya Tiwari, and I’m a professional Kathak dancer, student of Pt. Krishna Mohan Maharaj. I recently performed in the Republic Day tableau.

About Anupriya
My name is Anupriya Tiwari and I’m a Kathak practitioner who believes that this form is both a discipline and a living language.
I respect tradition deeply — my training, my riyaaz, and my understanding of Kathak grammar shape everything I do.
I teach Kathak because knowledge only stays alive when it is shared with honesty.
I want my students to learn correct Kathak first — strong footwork, tala sense, body discipline, and abhinaya control.
Beyond technique, I want you to understand why we move, not only how.
My aim is not to create copies of myself, but thinking Kathak dancers who can carry the form forward with integrity.
Last but not the least,
“I teach Kathak to preserve its strength and expand its voice.”

My Kathak is different not because I reject tradition, but because I work consciously within it.
I keep the grammar of Kathak intact —
tala, layakari, chakkar discipline, footwork clarity, body alignment, and abhinaya logic.
What I change is the question I ask through Kathak.
Instead of only presenting fixed repertoire, I use Kathak to explore themes, emotions, and contemporary ideas, while respecting its classical structure.
This is not fusion. This is interpretative Kathak.
