About Huzaifa

Hi, I'm Huzaifa, a Computer Science (Software Engineering) student with an A* in IGCSE Mathematics and A grades across my A Levels.

I tutor Math from Primary level through SPM and IGCSE, and I have teaching experience through my ICT Program volunteering role at SJKT Sungai Besi, alongside private IGCSE tutoring.

What I enjoy most about teaching is the mentorship side of it. I get to know each student, find out where they're struggling, and help them improve step by step. I believe Math becomes much easier when students understand why something works rather than simply memorizing a method.

My lessons are structured around explanation, questions, guided practice, and repetition where needed. I adjust the pace and difficulty to each student, whether they need to build stronger foundations, prepare for exams, or take on more challenging problems.

I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that's how confidence gets built. My goal is to help students become better at Math but mostly to get better marks ;) .

About the lesson

Teaching approach:

I teach Math through an iterative loop, not a single explanation followed by moving on. I explain a concept, ask questions to find the gaps, then move into harder questions once the basics land, then explain again wherever needed.
That cycle repeats and reshapes itself depending on the student. Some need more repetition on fundamentals before advancing. Others pick up the method quickly and need to be stretched sooner, so the pacing adjusts session to session rather than following a fixed script.

Lesson length and structure:

Sessions run two hours, structured as warm-up, recap of the previous lesson, the main teaching block, practice problems, and a final pass revisiting whatever fundamentals that day's lesson depended on.
The recap catches anything that didn't stick the week before, and the closing fundamentals pass matters most for students who understood the method in the moment but are still shaky on the underlying concept it rests on.

Experience:

I'm currently a Scratch trainer through my ongoing ICT Program volunteering role at SJKT Sungai Besi, and I've separately done private tutoring for IGCSE students. What I have is hands-on, ongoing teaching experience across two different settings, one structured through a volunteer program, one-on-one and self-directed, both requiring the same iterative approach to actually work.

Who these lessons are for:

Primary school students,
SPM students,
IGCSE students,
primarily in Math. The level of the student changes how much time each stage of the lesson gets. Younger or Primary-level students usually need a longer warm-up and recap, while SPM and IGCSE students spend more time in the practice and hard-question stages once the fundamentals are already solid.
