About Sophia

I have always had a strong interest in Economics, both inside and outside the classroom, because I find it fascinating how economic decisions influence everyday life. From inflation and markets to government policies and global issues, Economics helps explain many things people experience without always understanding the reasons behind them.

Having recently completed AQA GCSE Economics and achieving a strong understanding of the course, I know the challenges students face when learning new concepts, preparing for examinations and actually taking the exams itself. My approach focuses on personalised 1 to 1 support, adapting lessons to each student's needs rather than following a fixed classroom pace.

I would describe my teaching style as patient, organised and supportive. I break down difficult ideas into smaller steps, use real-world examples to make concepts easier to understand, and work through exam questions together to develop strong exam technique.

My aim is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them genuinely enjoy Economics and understand how it connects to the world around them. I want every student to feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and improving over time.

About the lesson

My GCSE AQA Economics lessons are designed to help students build a strong understanding of economic concepts while developing the exam skills needed to achieve higher grades.

Each lesson is personalised around the student's current ability, focusing on areas they may find challenging, whether that is understanding theory, applying concepts to real world examples, or improving evaluation skills in longer exam questions.

Lessons can include clear explanations of key topics, worked examples, exam style questions, revision strategies and guidance on how to structure high quality answers. As someone who has recently studied GCSE Economics, I understand the requirements of the course and the techniques needed to succeed in examinations.

Students can expect lessons to last 60 minutes. However, requests can be made to lengthen or shorten these sessions.

My goal is to make Economics easier to understand, more engaging and help students become more confident in their knowledge and exam performance.
