About Keira
My journey into architecture began with a deep fascination for how spaces shape movement, interaction, and emotional experience. This passion led me to complete an M.Arch in Urban and Architectural Design, where I developed strong foundations in conceptual design, spatial logic, and sustainable thinking. Over 10 years of teaching, I have worked closely with students at different stages of their academic journey, helping them turn uncertainty into structured creativity through patient and thoughtful guidance.
I believe architectural education should feel inspiring rather than intimidating. My teaching style emphasises clarity, encouragement, and adaptability. I break complex design processes into manageable stages, helping students understand that strong architecture evolves gradually through exploration and refinement. I encourage experimentation while maintaining discipline, allowing learners to trust their creative instincts while developing logical design structure.
Outside teaching, I remain actively engaged with architecture through sketching, urban analysis, design research, and continuous study of built environments. These practices enrich my lessons and keep my perspective evolving. Teaching architecture is deeply fulfilling because I witness students discover confidence in their creative voice. Supporting their growth and self-belief is the most meaningful part of my work.

Architecture lessons are designed to help students understand how creative ideas transform into meaningful, functional, and human-centred spaces. I guide learners through fundamental concepts such as spatial organisation, proportion, form, circulation, material awareness, and contextual thinking using a structured yet exploratory approach. Each lesson encourages students to think critically about design intent while also developing sensitivity towards human experience, environment, and purpose. I emphasise clarity of concept, ensuring students can explain not only what they design, but why design decisions are made. This approach helps learners build confidence in both thinking and expression.
As students progress, lessons evolve based on experience level. Beginners focus on visual observation, freehand sketching, basic composition, and conceptual thinking. Intermediate learners develop site analysis, spatial sequencing, model development, and design refinement. Advanced students work on complex projects, portfolio development, presentation logic, and narrative clarity. Feedback is detailed and constructive, helping students strengthen their design reasoning step by step without feeling discouraged or overwhelmed.
Architecture learning develops creativity, discipline, observation, and emotional intelligence. Students often gain confidence in expressing abstract ideas visually and verbally. Many become more aware of how spaces influence behaviour and emotion. My goal is to help learners develop a strong architectural identity while gaining practical skills that support academic growth and future professional practice.
