About Sho
Born in the UK and raised in Japan for 13 years, I am a native Japanese speaker. I have a huge passion for creative work and "making stuff," which brought me back to London to study at Central Saint Martins and, currently, the Royal College of Art (RCA). Alongside my studies, I have also worked at Foster + Partners.
My connection to Japanese culture is a daily part of my life: I practise Japanese calligraphy every morning and am a big fan of manga and anime.
While Japanese has a reputation for being difficult, my goal is to show you how incredibly rewarding your progress can be. To me, the true beauty of learning a language is the ability to fully connect with and understand someone from a completely different cultural background.

Everybody has different ways and goals of learning, and I will find what works best for you. I tailor my classes to your specific goals, focusing on practical communication and genuine cultural insights.
-My Approach: Interactive, tailored lessons that blend conversation, grammar, and culture. We can also focus heavily on reading and writing if that is your goal. We will build your skills step-by-step so you always feel a sense of accomplishment.
-Who I Teach: I welcome all ages and levels, from absolute beginners to advanced speakers.
-Location: Lessons are primarily held online for flexibility, though I can arrange in-person sessions in London on a case-by-case basis.
-Lesson Length: Standard classes are 60 minutes, which provides a great balance of focused learning and relaxed conversational practice.
