About Isla
My passion for Architecture started with a fascination for how spaces influence human behavior and creativity. I earned a B.Arch in Sustainable Architecture, where I explored design principles, spatial dynamics, and innovative building techniques. Over 8 years of teaching, I have guided students through the process of developing strong conceptual understanding and practical design skills. I teach with patience, clarity, and encouragement, emphasizing step-by-step guidance and individual feedback. My lessons combine theoretical knowledge, real-world examples, and hands-on practice to help learners express ideas confidently and creatively. I aim to cultivate not just technical skills, but also imagination and thoughtful design thinking. Outside the classroom, I engage with architectural research, urban design projects, and sustainability studies, bringing fresh, real-world insights into lessons. Witnessing students transform their ideas into structured, creative designs is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my teaching journey.

Architecture becomes meaningful when students understand how ideas evolve into functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces. In my lessons, I introduce principles of design, spatial reasoning, proportion, materials, and visual communication through structured, supportive instruction. Students learn to balance creativity with functionality, exploring how designers address both practical and artistic challenges. Step-by-step guidance helps learners translate abstract concepts into clear visual forms, fostering confidence and expression.
Intermediate lessons expand into 3D modeling, advanced sketching, conceptual visualization, and project planning. I encourage students to analyze examples of architecture from historical and contemporary contexts, helping them connect theory with practical application. Every exercise strengthens spatial understanding, technical precision, and creative thinking, ensuring learners develop a well-rounded design perspective.
Advanced lessons focus on sustainable design, portfolio development, architectural presentation, and design critique. Students learn to articulate their ideas clearly, present cohesive narratives, and solve complex spatial challenges. My approach ensures that learners not only improve technical skills but also cultivate a creative mindset that supports long-term growth and independent design thinking.
