About Natalie

Kids and teens often come to me because they want to capture that raw, acoustic sound they hear on old records. I earned my BFA in Music Industry from Belmont University in Nashville, which set the stage for a lifetime of playing.

My 13 years of experience have mostly been spent on stages across the American South and Southwest. Gigging for 13 years taught me more than any classroom ever could about real connection.

I started teaching when open-mic regulars kept asking how I managed to keep the crowd listening. It has been a long road from those first shows to the hundreds of students I have guided. Maybe you would like to grab a guitar and see where this music takes us.

About the lesson

Strumming patterns often trip up new players who struggle to keep their timing steady while trying to sing. I admit that I spent my first year of playing rhythmically confused and constantly losing my place in the song.

We spend our time breaking down complex blues progressions into manageable pieces that make sense to your ears. My 13 years of gigging inform how I teach acoustic technique and fingerpicking to ensure you sound good from day 1.

Electric technique is also on the menu if you want to broaden your sound beyond the wood and wire. Music theory is treated here as a practical tool rather than a chore to be endured.
