As an accomplished Third-year English and Art History double major at Boston University, I bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to my role as a tutor. With a track record of academic excellence, including a 3.8 GPA and the prestigious Urkunde Certificate for for excellence German Studies, I am well-equipped to guide students towards achieving their goals and unlocking their full potential.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my unique blend of skills and experiences. As the Editor of "The Beacon," BU's premier student-led literary journal, I have developed a keen eye for identifying and nurturing literary talent. My ability to provide constructive feedback and help writers refine their craft has been instrumental in helping numerous students improve their writing and gain confidence in their abilities.
Furthermore, as a published author in the esteemed independent literary journal "The Blood Pudding," I have firsthand experience navigating the creative process and understand the challenges that aspiring writers face. I am passionate about helping students find their unique voice, experiment with different styles and techniques, and develop a love for the written word.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is centered on fostering a love for literature and writing while helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Drawing from my diverse experiences as an Art History and English double major at Boston University, an editor of the literary journal "The Beacon," and a published author in "The Blood Pudding," I create personalized lesson plans that cater to each student's unique goals, interests, and learning style.

Open to students from lower school to high school, my teaching method combines close reading, critical analysis, and creative exploration. In a typical lesson, we begin by discussing the student's current assignments, challenges, and aspirations. We then delve into the text at hand, examining its themes, structure, and literary devices. Through guided questions and interactive exercises, I encourage students to think deeply, make connections, and form their own interpretations. We also dedicate time to honing writing skills, from brainstorming and outlining to drafting and revising.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to make literature and writing accessible, engaging, and relevant to students' lives. I bring a global perspective to our lessons, drawing from my proficiency in German and my knowledge of international literature.
