About Amina

I’m a Biomedical Science graduate and will be starting my first year of Medicine at Anglia Ruskin University this September. Having gone through the medicine application process several times without success, I understand how disheartening rejection can be. Through persistence, self-reflection, and refining my approach, I was finally successful—and now I want to help others do the same. I’m passionate about supporting aspiring medical students by sharing the tips and techniques that helped me secure a place. My goal is to ensure students feel confident, prepared, and fully supported throughout their journey into medicine.

About Me: From Aspiring Applicant to First-Year Medical Student
I hold a degree in Biomedical Science, have worked on the frontline as a Healthcare Assistant, and I am now proud to be a first-year medical student.
Having navigated the highly competitive medicine application process several times to successfully secure my place, I truly understand the resilience, dedication, and emotional strength it requires. This journey inspired me to support other aspiring students to achieve their own goals. I aim to be more than just a tutor; I want to be a mentor and a supportive guide who understands exactly what you are going through.
My Teaching Approach
I use a personalised, student-led approach focused on building confidence, deep understanding, and academic success. I begin by identifying your unique learning style, areas of weakness, and specific goals to create a tailored plan just for you.
To ensure our sessions are interactive, engaging, and highly effective, I utilize evidence-based learning techniques, including:
• Active recall to strengthen memory retrieval.
• Spaced repetition for long-term retention.
• Exam-style practice questions to build confidence under pressure.
Who I Tutor
Primary to GCSE Students:
I offer targeted subject support in Maths and Biology. My goal is to help younger students build a robust academic foundation, improve their grades, and develop genuine confidence in their own abilities.
Aspiring Medical Students:
I offer comprehensive, personalised support through the entire medical school application process. Having recently succeeded in this exact journey, I can help you with:
• UCAT Preparation: Proven tips, techniques, and timing strategies.
• Personal Statements: Detailed review, structural guidance, and constructive feedback.
• MMI Interviews: Tailored mock stations and actionable feedback to help you stand out.
Lesson Length & Flexibility
I believe tutoring should fit your needs. You are completely free to choose your lesson lengths—whether you need a short, highly-focused session or a longer, comprehensive deep-dive.
I pride myself on being approachable and flexible. If we are in the middle of a complex topic and go over time by 5–10 minutes, I am always happy to continue at no extra cost to ensure you leave the session feeling clear and confident. I also highly encourage my students to email me with questions between our sessions, and I always aim to respond as quickly as possible.
Whether you need help mastering core GCSE subjects or navigating the complex path to medical school, I am here to support you every step of the way!
