About Barakah

Hi! I am a KODA (Kid of Deaf Adults) and fluent, native American Sign Language (ASL) user. Deaf culture and sign language have been a natural part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I am passionate about sharing this beautiful language with others.
For nearly five years, I have been actively involved with Silent Voice, working to support, connect, and empower members of the Deaf and hearing communities. My background includes teaching ASL to families with Deaf children to foster strong communication at home, as well as instructing students who are eager to learn ASL for personal or professional growth.
Whether you are completely new to sign language or looking to deepen your understanding, I’m excited to help guide you on your journey toward fluency!

About the lesson

As a native KODA with nearly five years of experience at Silent Voice, I bring authentic, real-world experience to teaching American Sign Language. Having taught families with Deaf children as well as students eager to learn from scratch, my lessons focus on practical, immersive learning. Together, we will cover essential vocabulary, fingerspelling, grammar, facial expressions, and Deaf culture, building a strong foundation to help you gain confidence and achieve fluency.
