About Sophie
I’ve always been passionate about science and chemistry—not just as a subject, but as a way of understanding the world around us. I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the subject’s real-world applications, from medicine to environmental science, over the years of studying it. Teaching science is more than just sharing knowledge; it’s about inspiring curiosity and confidence in students. I know firsthand that chemistry can be daunting, but I also know how rewarding it is when things start to click. That’s why I love tutoring—I get to help students navigate challenges, build problem-solving skills, and discover their own strengths. I believe that with the right approach, anyone can excel in chemistry. My goal is to make learning engaging, personalised, and effective, so students not only improve their grades but also develop a genuine understanding of the subject. Seeing a student go from frustration to confidence is what drives me to teach, and I’m excited to help more students succeed.

I tailor my teaching style to each student’s needs, whether you’re struggling with fundamental concepts, preparing for exams, or looking to deepen your understanding. I believe in breaking down complex topics into simple, relatable ideas, using real-world examples to make abstract concepts clear. Rather than just memorising formulas, I help students develop problem-solving skills and a strong conceptual foundation, so they can confidently tackle any question. My sessions are interactive, encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and apply their knowledge. Above all, I strive to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel confident in their abilities and see real progress in their studies. Whether you need help with organic chemistry, stoichiometry, or reaction mechanisms, I’m here to guide you step by step. Let’s make chemistry less intimidating and more rewarding—together!
