I emphasize a student-centered approach, adapting lessons to each student’s unique learning style. I focus on building a strong foundation in writing and comprehension, using interactive techniques like discussions, writing prompts, and analysis exercises to engage students and enhance their skills.
For writing-focused tutoring, a session might begin with a brief review of a writing sample or assignment. We would then move on to targeted exercises, such as improving thesis statements or structuring arguments. For literature/comprehension, we might analyze a passage together, focusing on theme, tone, and character development. Homework could include drafting a paragraph or summarizing a chapter to reinforce the lesson.
My approach is highly personalized; I tailor each lesson to the student’s current needs and long-term goals. With a background in English and soon-to-be graduate studies in education, I bring both subject expertise and pedagogical knowledge to every session.
