About Leslye
Welcome to your reading journey! I am an enthusiastic educator who enjoys watching students grow in their learning to achieve their goals. With nearly 20 years of experience in public school education, I have worked with students of all reading levels. I meet students where they are while building upon their skills. I am a published author of the middle-grade novel, "The Bookstore Adventure: A Nya Sky Story," which has recently been made into a three-book series. Bookstores and libraries are my favorite places to visit. I look forward to meeting you.

Reading comprehension was hard for me as a child. When I began reading aloud, I understood what I was reading. I like to read to my students and then have them read to me as an exchange. The more we read together, the better readers they become.
I am patient and understand that sometimes it takes people additional time to express their thoughts. Since I've worked in the public school system for nearly 20 years, I've met many students abilities and am equipped to support all learners.
Middle-grade students are my favorite grade level to teach as I find this age group to be most eager to learn and improve their reading skills.
