About Kiya

Hey, I'm Kiya. Here's a little about me to see if there's a vibe match between me and you. I think it's important to have a tutor you can relate to or feel comfortable around. I was that shy kid so I get it. I'm currently twenty-five years old, and left the education system at the age of 18 and entered the life of work within a logistics firm's finance team. Finally, after a lot of grit and hard work, I qualified as an Accountant at the start of 2023. I love all things creative - I am quite musical, and love writing, and photography and attempting to be artsy. I think it's healthy to balance your academics with something quirky. I am a very visual and hands-on learner so our lessons will be conversational based and focused on applying knowledge. I also have a lot of resources from my school days that I can offer where necessary. I love learning and I miss immersing myself in academia and having a nerdy time with like-minded souls. This is one of my driving factors to tutor. It's also a bonus watching someone flourish and unlock their potential in the right environment.

About the lesson

I struggled to fit into the traditional methodologies used at school. I strongly believe it is important to grasp the why and how of concepts, and ask questions to unlock academic potential within us all. I am a hands-on tutor. Our lessons will be conversational, and we will work through questions and concepts together visually. I will tailor lessons to your needs, and provide my suggestions too, and where required assist with timetabling. Everyone’s attention span is different – I would recommend an hour’s lesson for starters. I have worked part-time in AE Tutoring Centre, and seven years' history of volunteering in children-oriented roles at The National Trust. I also have experience coaching and training people within Finance, and hold a valid DBS check. I sat my GCSE exams in 2016, and obtained the following: Mathematics [A*] English Literature [A*] English Language [A*] Religious Studies [A*] Chemistry [A*] Physics [A*] Computing [A*] Biology [A] History [A] German [A] Art and Design (Fine Art) [B] Additional to this, I have Grade Six in Piano, Music Theory and Violin. I am an ACCA qualified Chartered Accountant as of 2023, specialising in Advanced Audit and Assurance, and Advanced Performance Management.
