Beyond my nine years of online teaching experience and award-winning background in poetry and short stories, I bring empathy, patience, and enthusiasm to every class. I know what it's like to struggle with writer's block, self-doubt, or the fear of sharing your work. I emphasize community, collaboration, and inspiration, ensuring every student feels heard, valued, and supported. As an award-winning poet and writer, I bring firsthand knowledge of storytelling, structure, and literary techniques, allowing me to guide students through the creative process with professional insight. With nine years of experience teaching creative writing online, I understand how to create a welcoming, engaging environment where beginners and advanced writers can thrive.

My background in education, world religions, and social and political science enriches my teaching, helping students explore deeper themes and perspectives in their writing. For example, when students struggle to develop complex characters, I encourage them to draw from different cultural or historical influences to deepen their character’s motivations and conflicts. Similarly, if a student is stuck on a plot, I guide them through brainstorming techniques to unlock new ideas.
