About Alex
I've been teaching for over six years and in that time have amassed over 1000 hours of private one-on-one and group teaching experience. I'm capable of teaching at various levels, but mainly focus on GCSE, A-level and degree level teaching, and in 2016-2017 I was a recipient of the ICL student teaching award for the latter. I've helped numerous A-level students achieve spaces at their first choice universities. I have a masters degree in mathematics from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in theoretical physics from Imperial College London.

Every student learns in different ways, and as a tutor it's my job to work with this rather than against it. In view of this every student I teach receives a tailored teaching experience that is aimed at getting the best results for them. I emphasise learning through understanding and aim for students to learn the core principles of a subject so that they can really take ownership of the knowledge themselves.
