About Emmawyn

My journey with Biology began in my sophomore year of high school, when I received a perfect score on the national Advanced Placement Biology exam. I went on to complete a four-year Bachelor's degree in Biology, graduating at 20 years old. I also paid my way through college by tutoring fellow students, sometimes for 20 hours a week while still attending college. After completing my bachelor's degree, I worked for over two years as a project manager at a healthcare organization. This experience taught me professionalism, including skills in scheduling, virtual meeting management, communication with people of all backgrounds, and flexible working styles.
I would be an exceptionally professional, reliable, flexible, and competent tutor for your in-person or remote tutoring needs.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is always tailored to my student. Whether you would like to deep-dive into a specific topic, get a holistic understanding of Biology, or prepare for a specific milestone or exam, I can work with you to create a winning strategy.
A typical lesson plan would involve a review of key concepts and terminology, review of memorable example or case studies, and additional discussion/practice/prompts to solidify the concepts as needed. I really like to get creative with exercises, visuals, diagrams, and examples because I believe this leads to more lasting learning.
I have a diverse background in tutoring, mentorship, service, management, and art, allowing me to connect with all kinds of students, including those who speak English as a second language. This also allows me to come up with more unique lesson plans to support my student's natural learning style.
My lessons are best suited to students from middle school to college age, since Biology is most successfully taught at these levels. However, flexibility is my top priority as a tutor, and adjustments can be made.
Additionally, my Biology expertise extends across many disciplines, including Botany, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Immunology, and more. Any subject within this realm are welcome challenges for my tutoring skills!
