About Yuvraj
I am a Bachelor of Education (Primary) student at Manukau Institute of Technology, committed to supporting students in building confidence, understanding, and a positive attitude toward learning. I take a calm, structured, and encouraging approach to teaching, ensuring lessons are well planned, age-appropriate, and focused on each learner’s needs. I am professional, reliable, and respectful in my work with students and families. My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching
My approach to tutoring is student-centred, structured, and supportive. I focus on building a strong understanding of concepts rather than rote learning, while adapting my teaching style to suit each learner’s needs, pace, and confidence level.
Techniques and Teaching Methodology
I begin by identifying the student’s current level of understanding and any gaps in knowledge. Lessons are structured around clear learning goals, with concepts broken down into simple, logical steps. I use guided practice, worked examples, and questioning to check understanding throughout the lesson. I encourage students to explain their thinking, which helps strengthen conceptual clarity and confidence. Where appropriate, I use real-life examples and visual aids to make learning more engaging and relatable, especially in Mathematics.
Typical Length of a Lesson
A typical lesson is 45 to 60 minutes. This allows enough time to review prior learning, introduce or reinforce key concepts, practise skills, and address questions without overwhelming the student. Lesson length can be adjusted based on the learner’s age, attention span, and goals.
