About Nohad

I studied a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney and completed a research-intensive Honours year at the Children’s Medical Research Institute with the Cell Biology laboratory. I began a PhD in cancer research; however, I decided to pursue medicine instead. I recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Public Health, receiving an overall 7 GPA. I have sat the Graduate Australian Medical School Admission Test (GAMSAT) multiple times, receiving a score within the 92nd percentile. I also sat the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT), receiving a score above the 8th decile.

Regarding tutoring experience, I was a literary specialist at Cumberland Education from 2018 to 2020. While working at Cumberland Education, I supported students with diverse learning difficulties, such as ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. Later on, I began private tutoring, helping university students with their nursing, biology, and chemistry units. I have also privately tutored primary school students, focusing on selective school exams, NAPLAN, and maths. Most recently, I assisted colleagues in their GAMSAT studies by explaining difficult scientific concepts, marking their essays, and running twice-weekly reflective sessions where we would run through correct answers to completed questions and develop an understanding as to why their answers were correct or not.

About the lesson

GAMSAT Section 3 can definitely feel overwhelming, especially if you're unsure where to start or why some questions trip you up, even when you feel confident about the content. I've been in your shoes, having taken this exam multiple times, so I know how frustrating and intimidating it can be, especially with the clock ticking. That’s why I approach tutoring a bit differently.

In our sessions, we’ll focus on practical skills that really matter. We’ll kick things off by pinpointing the areas where you’re having trouble, and then together we’ll create a study plan that makes sense for you. We’ll prioritise the core skills GAMSAT is all about: understanding and analysing unfamiliar material, critical reasoning, and problem-solving under pressure.

Instead of rushing to answers, I’ll encourage you to share how you arrived at your reasoning, even if you got it right. This part is crucial—it’s where you can gain or lose marks. We’ll break down your thinking process, improve it, and find more efficient ways to tackle questions within those strict time limits. We’ll really focus on narrowing down incorrect options, interpreting graphs and data quickly, and handling complex questions without panicking.

I don’t treat Section 3 as just a heavy content subject. Instead, we’ll work on skills that you can apply across the sciences: spotting patterns, pulling out relevant information, evaluating evidence, and making justified decisions even when some information is missing.

Each session will be structured to keep us on track, but flexible enough to adapt to your needs. My goal is for you to leave not just with answers, but with a more confident and calm strategy for facing those tricky questions on exam day. I'm excited to help you get there!
