About Aya
I’m Dr. Aya Abdelmonem, a neurologist with a master's degree in neurology and neuroscience. I love teaching and simplifying medicine, specifically neurology. I’m responsible for teaching and practicing junior neurologists for years, and I always wondered why they continue to attend my sessions even after becoming competent, practicing physicians themselves?!
They return not because they need basic teaching, but because they value the clarity, clinical insight, and exam-focused approach I provide.

I believe medical education should be clear, practical, and human, not intimidating.
My teaching style focuses on simplifying complex concepts—especially in neurology—by breaking them down into logical steps that actually make sense. I don’t rely on memorization; instead, I help students understand the “why” behind each concept so they can confidently apply it in exams and real clinical scenarios.
I teach using:
• Clinical reasoning, not just slides
• Exam-oriented explanations with common traps highlighted
• Analogies and real-life examples that make difficult topics stick
• A safe, interactive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions
As a neurologist, I understand where students usually struggle, because I’ve seen it repeatedly in both exams and clinical practice. I tailor my explanations to match different learning levels, whether the student is encountering the topic for the first time or revising before exams.
What sets me apart is that I don’t teach at students—I teach with them. My sessions are structured, focused, and efficient, respecting students’ time while maximizing understanding.
