About Walter
Walking into the studio with my guitar, I prepare to teach the mechanics of sound. After 9 years of teaching, I have worked with 389 students to sharpen their playing.
My Bachelor of Music from the Curtis Institute provides a foundation for everything I teach. Lead guitar, blues progressions, and fingerpicking occupy much of our time.
We also cover reading sheet music, power chords, and barre chords. Ear training and reading tabs are essential skills for any guitarist. You are welcome to join me for a session whenever you feel ready.

A first session involves 6 minutes of assessment to gauge your current dexterity. My conservatory training defines how I explain lead guitar and complex blues progressions. Power chords and barre chords are broken down into simple shapes. Fingerpicking requires focus.
Ear training helps you understand what you are hearing. Reading tabs becomes instinctive through regular practice. We spend the remaining time on sight reading. It is simple enough.
