About Heather
Teaching newcomer families allows me to blend my dual passions for music and language acquisition effectively. It is a unique approach that really works for people settling into life in Toronto and Vancouver.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a TEFL certification from UBC to support this work. My practice focuses on building presentation skills and vocabulary for working professionals and adult learners. Sometimes I even integrate guitar and singing to help students master idioms and expressions.
Helping absolute beginners and IELTS candidates find their voice through these creative methods remains a primary motivation. I genuinely love watching students gain the confidence to express themselves clearly in a new country.

Admittedly, traditional grammar drills often fail to capture the nuance of real-life conversation. My methodology uses music and song to ground grammar foundations and speaking practice in something memorable. I hold a Bachelor of Music and a TEFL certification which allows me to bridge technical language training with authentic performance techniques. Students receive a dedicated homework module with feedback after every class to ensure progress remains visible and trackable.
This system keeps the learning process organized while providing concrete ways to sharpen interview preparation skills. I look forward to hearing your goals and starting this journey toward your fluency together.
