About Jaime
I have 7 years of experience teaching singing and helping students develop confidence in their unique voices. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance with a focus on Lieder and Art Song. My teaching combines strong vocal technique with creativity and personal musical expression.
I specialize in vocal improvisation for jazz and blues singers, including scat singing, melodic embellishment, and advanced harmony. I also teach ear training, scale and chord theory application, and practical ways to create original improvisational ideas. My goal is to help students understand music deeply while developing their own improvisational voice.
I work with singers at all levels, from beginners building their foundation to experienced performers looking to expand their skills. My lessons are personalized and focus on vocal technique, performance ability, and musical understanding. I once helped a student who felt unsure about improvisation by starting with simple patterns, and they gradually became more confident creating their own musical ideas.
I believe every singer has a personal sound that deserves to be explored and developed. My aim is to create a supportive learning environment where students can grow at their own pace. I look forward to helping you discover your voice and enjoy the freedom of musical expression.

"My teaching approach focuses on developing vocal agility, control, and confidence through practical exercises and musical application. Lessons include vocal runs, riffs, melisma, pitch accuracy, breath support, and navigating complex vocal passages. I help students understand how to use these skills naturally without creating tension in the voice.
I teach techniques that improve vocal flexibility while keeping the sound clear and expressive. For example, we practice short vocal patterns slowly before applying them to songs, which helps students build speed and accuracy over time. This method allows singers to handle challenging melodies with greater ease.
I also focus on listening skills, timing, and musical expression so students can add vocal embellishments that suit the style of a song. Each lesson is adjusted to match the student's goals, whether they want to improve performance skills or explore more advanced vocal techniques. I provide detailed feedback to help students understand their progress.
My goal is to help singers develop strong vocal dexterity while keeping their unique sound. With consistent practice and focused guidance, students can perform intricate vocal passages with confidence. Together, we can build control, creativity, and the effortless grace needed for expressive singing."
