About Kelly
I am a passionate and dedicated professional with a deep love for both performance and education. With a Bachelor of Performing Arts and Master of Music Studies from prestigious institutions like NASDA-Ara Christchurch Polytechnic Institute and The Queensland Conservatorium, I have built a strong foundation in both musical performance and teaching. Over the years, I have had the privilege of performing on international platforms as the Lead Singer and Band Leader on Celebrity Cruises, where I led a high-energy party band and delivered nightly performances. This experience has not only refined my vocal abilities but also taught me how to inspire and connect with diverse audiences.
My desire to teach stems from my own musical journey and the transformative impact that music and education have had on my life. I have had the opportunity to study under world-class mentors and work in various educational settings, from relief teaching to Performing Arts Teacher roles, where I developed a strong understanding of how to cater to different learning styles and age groups. I believe that teaching allows me to pass on the knowledge I’ve gained throughout my studies and career, helping students find their unique voice, build confidence, and develop essential skills for both their musical and personal growth.
Teaching is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about fostering a supportive, inspiring environment where students can discover their full potential. My goal as a teacher is to nurture creativity and empower students with the skills to express themselves through music, whether it's through vocal technique, self-accompaniment, or performance. I am driven by the opportunity to share my passion for music, guide students in their artistic journey, and help them gain the confidence to perform and express themselves in ways they never thought possible.

As a Vocal Teacher, I teach a variety of contemporary vocal styles, including Musical Theatre, Jazz, and Pop music. My approach is to develop versatile singers who can confidently perform across different genres while maintaining vocal health and technique. I also emphasize the importance of self-accompaniment, teaching students how to sing and play piano simultaneously, which enhances their musical independence and performance skills.
Through my Master of Music Studies degree, I gained a strong foundation in vocal pedagogy, where I learned the critical aspects of proper alignment and breathing techniques. I incorporate these fundamental principles into all my lessons to ensure students develop healthy vocal habits that will serve them throughout their musical journeys. I focus on techniques that allow singers to access their full vocal potential without strain, and I guide students through methods of building vocal strength, flexibility, and endurance.
In addition to vocal technique, my teaching emphasizes expressive performance and artistic interpretation, allowing students to connect with the music and develop their own unique style. Whether performing on stage or accompanying themselves, I strive to give students the tools they need to feel confident and capable in their vocal and musical expression.
