About Tyler
I've been tutoring IB Mathematics for quite a while in both Singapore and Australia. Throughout my experiences in tutoring, I have adopted a more relaxed approach that focuses on helping my tutees understand mathematics and why it is so important to the world we live in. I am proud to say that all of my tutees achieved a perfect score of 7 for IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL.
In my free time, I also enjoy being an amateur karaoke singer and swimming.

- My teaching technique is more in line with the philosophy of the IB, which focuses on understanding ideas and concepts rather than a simple machine-like memorization of formulas. I explain mathematical ideas in terms of simpler concepts that can be easily understood and seen in our physical world, in order to help my tutees gain an intuition for more complex ideas.
- A typical lesson will last around 45 minutes to 1 hour, because I believe that shorter sessions will be more high-impact and help my tutees retain more of what they learn.
- I have 3 years of experience in 1-on-1 tutoring for mathematics, and am currently pursuing a degree in mathematics.
- My lessons are for students of ages 15-18 who are doing any level of mathematics.

Tyler’s knowledge of mathematics is great, but his ability to explain mathematics is even greater. If you’re looking to truly master mathematics, he’s your guy.
As someone who Tyler tutored and as someone who is his friend, I have to say that I could have only scored a 7 in IB Maths AA HL because of him. He was willing to walk me through every step, regardless of how basic it seemed. He was always patient with me, and through him I felt like I finally understood mathematics for the first time. I truly do think he’s one of the best math explainers out there.
