About Don

Hi, we’re Don and Diana Silvas, husband-and-wife dance instructors at Volta Dance. We’ve been teaching partner dance since 1999, helping beginners discover that dancing together can be enjoyable and achievable.

Our specialty is working with wedding couples and adults who want to feel more comfortable on the dance floor. With 27 years of teaching experience, we know how to break movements into manageable steps and adapt lessons to different learning styles.

As a married couple, we love helping other couples enjoy the connection that comes from dancing together. Our approach is patient, practical, and personal. You don’t need to arrive with confidence or experience—we’ll build those together. Our goal is to help you enjoy your first dance, your next date night, and learning something new with your partner.

About the lesson

Learn to dance together comfortably—even if you’re starting with two left feet.

I offer personalized ballroom and wedding dance lessons through Zoom or Google Meet. Each lesson is tailored to your experience, goals, and music, with clear demonstrations, step-by-step instruction, and feedback as you practice.

For wedding couples, we’ll create a first dance that fits your song and personalities—simple and elegant, fun and upbeat, or somewhere in between. For social dancers, we’ll develop rhythm, leading and following, and steps you can enjoy on a date night or at your next event.

My approach is patient and practical. We’ll move at your pace, build on what works for you, and help you feel more connected as partners. Video notes make practicing between lessons easier.

Morning, daytime and evening lessons are available. Beginners are welcome; no dance experience is needed.
